Sprouts Farmers Market Launching 2025 Grants Program

The Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation has officially opened applications for its 2025 Grants Program, making $3 million in funding available to empower local nonprofits advancing nutrition education, access, and wellness. This initiative is part of Sprouts Farmers Market’s ongoing mission to cultivate healthier communities in the areas it serves.

More than 500 nonprofit organizations will be selected to receive individual grants of up to $10,000. The funding is designed to uplift grassroots programs that are making a tangible impact on health outcomes – especially in underserved communities – by offering hands-on learning opportunities, increasing access to fresh food, and fostering lifelong healthy habits.

“At Sprouts, our purpose is to help people live and eat better, and we’re proud to support the incredible work of local nonprofits who are doing just that,” said Jack Sinclair, Chief Executive Officer of Sprouts Farmers Market. “Through these grants, we’re able to support communities where our team members and customers live.”

The 2025 grants will be awarded across three dedicated categories, each tailored to different aspects of health and wellness:

Sprouting School Gardens – Targeted at school-based gardening programs, this funding supports experiential learning that brings nutrition education to life for students, encouraging a deeper understanding of where food comes from and how to make healthy choices.

Growing Healthy Kids – This category funds community-based initiatives that support children’s access to nutritious foods, offer engaging nutrition education, and promote youth health and wellness through diverse programming.

Wellness Across the Lifespan – Focused on adults and families, this funding stream supports programs that address long-term health outcomes, including cooking classes, wellness workshops, and other holistic approaches to adult nutrition and lifestyle support.

The Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation continues to build on the success of its previous efforts. In September 2024, the Foundation awarded $4 million in grants to 580 nonprofits and elementary schools nationwide. In an inspiring, coordinated event, team members from all 423 Sprouts stores personally delivered checks to local recipients in a single day. These grants were made possible through the foundation’s in-store Round Up program, where 100% of customer donations collected at checkout are reinvested into the communities they were given in.

“We know that small, local organizations are often the ones making the biggest difference,” said Lyndsey Waugh, Executive Director of the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation. “These grants are about supporting the amazing work already happening on the ground, from school gardens and cooking classes to mobile pantries and family wellness programs. It’s about meeting communities where they are and helping them thrive.”

Since its founding in 2015, the Foundation has distributed more than $35 million in grants, supporting programs that reach an estimated 3 million children each year. With the 2025 program, Sprouts expects to more than double its grantmaking footprint, further amplifying its commitment to equitable access to health and nutrition.

Applications are now open and will be accepted through June 18th, 2025. Eligible organizations are encouraged to learn more and apply at www.sprouts.com/foundation.
