Sprouts Farmers Market opened its first store in Kyle, Texas on Friday, October 10th, at 150 Heroes Memorial Drive. The Phoenix-based grocery chain, known for its focus on fresh produce, natural products, and specialty diet items, held a grand opening celebration throughout the weekend. It is the company’s 60th store in Texas.
“For years, there has been a vision for the Brick and Mortar District to be a vibrant, walkable hub for shopping, dining, and community life,” said Kyle’s Mayor Travis Mitchell. “The opening of Sprouts Farmers Market is the first major step in bringing that vision to reality. With Sprouts at the heart of this development, we’re not only welcoming a beloved grocer but also setting the stage for a thriving district that will serve Kyle residents for generations to come.”
The event began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6:45 A.M. on Friday, followed by the store opening at 7:00 A.M. A “pop-up party” took place in front of the store, where visitors sampled seasonal produce and participated in a contest to guess the weight of a large produce item for a prize. Inside the store, customers found additional tastings, giveaways, and music.
The first 200 shoppers on both Friday and Saturday received reusable bags containing products and samples, according to the company. The first 400 shoppers on Friday were also given a long-stem rose from Falcon Farms Floral. Customers who signed up online before visiting were entered into a drawing for a $500 gift card. Shoppers who registered for a Sprouts Rewards account received 20 percent off their purchases throughout the weekend.
This marked the first Sprouts location in Kyle and one of several in the Austin area. Sprouts also opened a new store in Longview on Halloween, pushing the number of stores in Texas over 60. The company had previously announced plans to open 35 new stores nationwide in 2025.
