Sprouts Farmers Market Plans to Double Store Count in Central Texas
Sprouts Farmers Market is embarking on an expansion campaign, with a particular focus on Central Texas, as it contemplates future store locations both to the north and south of Austin, according to The Austin Business Journal. The Phoenix-based organic grocery chain is preparing to open its first store in Georgetown, marking the beginning of numerous nationwide openings that could potentially double its store count in Central Texas. While the details of the next location in Williamson County are yet to be confirmed, Dan Croce, Sprouts’ Senior Vice President of Real Estate, anticipates its arrival in the coming years. Furthermore, Croce revealed that the company is currently in negotiations for “a couple of other undisclosed sites across the region.”
This expansion initiative coincides with the grand opening of a Sprouts store in the Mueller neighborhood of Austin on September 22nd. Additionally, Sprouts has plans to anchor a potential shopping center in Kyle, a suburb located south of Austin. The addition of the Mueller store will bring the metro area’s Sprouts count to six. Sprouts aims to increase its store count nationwide by 10% annually for the next five years, according to Croce, potentially leading to a total of 12 stores in the Austin area alone. Currently, the chain operates over 390 stores across 23 states nationwide.
