Sprouts Opens New Flagship Store, Expands HQ

Sprouts Farmers Market opened its new flagship store in Phoenix last month, marking a major milestone for the retailer as it continues its national expansion and prepares to relocate employees to its new corporate headquarters later this summer.

The 25,000-square-foot flagship, located at 20650 N. 56th Street in the City North mixed-use development, will serve as the centerpiece of a new campus that also includes Sprouts’ 144,500-square-foot headquarters. The new office replaces the company’s previous, smaller metro Phoenix headquarters and is designed to accommodate the retailer’s growing corporate workforce as it expands across the United States.

According to Wespac Construction Inc., the City North development will span more than 180,000 square feet across seven acres. In addition to the flagship grocery store and corporate headquarters, the project includes approximately 11,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space and a three-story parking garage.

“Opening our new flagship store in Phoenix is a proud milestone for Sprouts and a meaningful investment in our home state of Arizona. This location brings our health-forward experience to life in a new way while helping more customers live and eat better every day,” said Dave McGlinchey, chief development officer at Sprouts. “We’re especially excited to anchor this development alongside our new headquarters, reinforcing our long-term commitment to the Phoenix community and our continued growth across Arizona.”

The flagship opening is part of a broader expansion that will see Sprouts debut four new stores over the course of a week. Also opening is a new Buckeye, Arizona, location at 20975 W. Roosevelt St., near the Verrado master-planned community, further strengthening the retailer’s presence in its home state. On the same day, Sprouts will open its third Delaware store at 888 Presidents Row in Bear, expanding its footprint in the Mid-Atlantic region. The expansion continues with a new store in Weatherford, Texas, at 317 Center Point Road.

Each new location will feature Sprouts’ signature assortment of fresh produce, natural and organic groceries, specialty products, high-quality proteins, healthy bulk foods and thousands of vitamins and wellness products. Stores also offer a variety of prepared meal options, including daily-rolled sushi, made-to-order deli sandwiches and ready-to-eat wellness bowls designed to provide convenient, budget-friendly meal solutions.

As part of its commitment to the communities it serves, Sprouts said each new store will work with local and regional farmers to source products whenever possible.

Looking ahead, Sprouts has additional expansion plans already in motion. The retailer is scheduled to open its second New York location on Sept. 4 at 393 N. Central Avenue in Hartsdale. The company is also preparing to enter Ohio for the first time, with its inaugural store in Columbus planned for 2028.

Sprouts has been steadily growing its store base while investing in infrastructure to support that expansion. The new headquarters represents one of the company’s largest recent investments and underscores its long-term commitment to the Phoenix area, where the retailer was founded and continues to be headquartered.

Sprouts Farmers Market operates more than 480 stores in 25 states and employs approximately 36,000 associates. The Phoenix-based specialty grocer ranked No. 45 on Progressive Grocer’s 2026 PG 100 list of North America’s top food and consumables retailers and was also recognized among the publication’s 10 Most Sustainable Grocers for 2026.
