Stater Bros. Markets, a family-owned grocery chain based in San Bernardino, California, is planning to build a new store at the Greenspot Crossings shopping center at the 210 Freeway and Greenspot Road in Highland. Construction on the new 46,000-square-foot store is expected to start this fall, with the store set to open next summer. The new store will replace the existing Stater Bros. location at 3633 Highland Avenue, which has been in operation since 1979. Employees at the current store will be offered transfers to other Stater Bros. locations, and the closing date of the old store will be announced closer to the opening of the new one.
The new store will be nearly twice the size of the current one and will include full-service meat, seafood, deli, and bakery departments, as well as fresh options like sushi and cut fruit stations. It will also use eco-friendly features such as energy-efficient equipment and LED lighting. Stater Bros. Markets CEO Pete Van Helden is excited about supporting Highland’s growth and offering an improved shopping experience for the community.
