Target Unveils Larger Format Store Design

After years of research, Target has updated their store design and strategy with the debut of their larger 150,000 square foot store outside of Houston. This next evolution of their new store strategy is all in an effort to better serve their customers and employees. Larger-format stores optimize additional space and new design elements which feature more open layout and localized elements to inspire and serve guests. While focused on the new footprint in the coming years, the retailer will continue opening stores of all sizes including its small format strategy. The new larger stores delivers more backroom space that’s five times larger than previous stores of similar size. That additional space will help support the ongoing growth Target has experienced with its stores fulfilling more than 95% of the retailer’s digital orders and same day delivery services which accounts for more than 10% of its overall sales. It will also offer customers the retailer’s full assortments of merchandise including expanded food and beverage and exclusive and national brands.
