Tom Thumb celebrated the opening of its newest store on March 6th at 1046 Market Way in Argyle, marking the third of four planned store openings across North Texas within a six-month period.
The new Argyle location follows two store openings in December, with another site planned for Midlothian. The company has continued its strong growth momentum in the region, building on three additional store openings completed in 2024. In December, Tom Thumb also broke ground on a new store in Lucas, which is expected to open later this year.
To celebrate the grand opening, the first 300 customers received complimentary bags of groceries, while shoppers throughout the weekend enjoyed special promotions, product samples, and in-store events. The festivities also included a chance to win free groceries for a year and family-friendly experiences like photos with the Easter Bunny.
The 63,000-square-foot store offers a wide assortment of fresh and local products, including more than 1,000 locally sourced items. Shoppers can explore full-service departments such as bakery, deli, meat and seafood, produce, and floral.
Additional features include a convenient drive-thru pharmacy, Drive-Up-N-Go grocery pickup, and an in-store Starbucks kiosk, enhancing both convenience and experience for customers.
“This store has been a long time coming for Argyle and Northlake residents,” noted Bill Neve, Albertsons Division President. “We’re excited to bring a full-service Tom Thumb closer to home and to officially welcome our newest customers.”
To commemorate the grand opening, Tom Thumb donated $45,000 to local nonprofits, including the Argyle Education Foundation and Northwest ISD Education Foundation.
Tom Thumb is owned and operated by Albertsons Companies, which operates stores across 35 states under banners including Albertsons, Safeway, Tom Thumb, Randalls, Market Street, and United Supermarkets.
