Tom Thumb to Open Only Major Grocery Store in Sunnyvale

Tom Thumb is set to open its first major grocery store in Sunnyvale, Texas, a suburban community approximately 15 miles east of downtown Dallas. This new store, scheduled to open in late 2025, will be a significant addition to the area. It will be located at Belt Line Road and Town East Boulevard within Gateway Park, a massive $124 million development covering 240,000 square feet. Alongside the grocery store, Gateway Park will offer additional retail and restaurant spaces, as well as athletic facilities. The Sunnyvale Town Council has approved a $3 million economic incentive to support the development of this store, reflecting the town’s excitement and support for this new addition to the community. The store will include a full-service grocery store, a gas station, and a convenience store.

“The Town Council is thrilled to provide our residents with this investment,” Mayor Saji George, who also serves as the Chair of the Town’s 4B Economic Development Corporation, said in the release. “Our goal when looking to attract and retain businesses is to ensure that they align with our community’s essential needs and identity. We hope this development is put to great use as we look to further improve our quality of life.”
