Trader Joe’s, H-E-B Top List of Most Reputable Companies on Axios-Harris Poll 100
Trader Joe’s and H-E-B placed first and second on this year’s Axios-Harris Poll 100, a yearly survey of over 33,000 Americans of the reputations of the most prominent U.S. companies across multiple industries. Grocery store chains, particularly regional chains, have risen through the ranks due to their response to the pandemic and ability to weather supply chain issues. In the poll, three supermarket chains — Trader Joe’s, H-E-B and Wegmans Food Markets — made the top five most reputable companies. The Kroger Co. and Publix Super Markets came in among the top 25 companies on the survey. The poll included reputation rankings across public-facing industries from computers, shipping, automotive, insurance, financial institutions, and more, yet grocery chains topped the list and are rising in reputation year over year. “As Americans move on from COVID, they are looking at corporate reputation through a more practical lens,” The Harris Poll CEO John Gerzema said in a statement. “Companies delivering on time and keeping their promises despite supply chain issues are being held in high regard. Businesses that also do their part to create a better world — whether through sustainability or taking a stand on authentic social issues — also are being rewarded.”
