Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace has expanded its Long Island presence with the opening of a new store in Bohemia, continuing the specialty grocer’s steady growth across the region. The location opened on November 14th at 5181 Sunrise Highway in the Sayville Plaza shopping center and adds a 39,000-square-foot store to the company’s portfolio. The Bohemia store offers many of the signature departments that have become part of Uncle Giuseppe’s brand identity, including a full-service deli, a scratch bakery, custom-cut meats, fresh produce, and a seafood department featuring live lobsters. The location also includes dedicated displays for Italian imports, cheese, pasta, and candy. A café positioned near the front of the store provides espresso and specialty beverages and is supported by merchandising that emphasizes Italian décor and visual detail.
Grand opening festivities included a ribbon cutting event with local representatives, live music, raffles, and several specialty showcases such as a 900-pound provolone and made to order cannolis. As part of the celebration, the company donated 200 turkeys to Island Harvest Food Bank, continuing its tradition of community support. Services at the store include home delivery and curbside pickup, which align with the broader company focus on convenience driven offerings.
The Bohemia opening marks the twelfth location for Uncle Giuseppe’s, which operates stores across Long Island, New Jersey, and the New York metropolitan area. The opening in Bohemia reflects the company’s approach of expanding within established markets while maintaining a focus on specialty offerings and customer experience. The company has additional expansion plans, including new locations scheduled for Greenvale and Levittown in 2026.
Uncle Giuseppe’s was founded in 1998 and has grown around a model that blends specialty Italian foods with full-service departments and theatrical food presentation. Its stores are known for prepared foods, made from scratch bakery items, and displays that highlight imported products and traditional recipes.
