UNFI Transition of Purchasing and Fulfillment to Joliet (JLN)

As part of UNFI’s strategic focus on optimizing their network to more effectively and efficiently serve retailers and suppliers, UNFI is transitioning retailers/suppliers from the Racine, Wisconsin DC to the Joliet, Illinois, DC, which has expanded capabilities to support long-term growth.  

The modern technology investments UNFI is making in Joliet – including full-case automation and an advanced warehouse management system – are expected to allow them to better serve their partners in the greater Chicago market with increased capacity and improved service levels over time.  

Because of this transition, purchase orders (POs) that previously routed to Racine may begin routing to Joliet (JLN). Suppliers who have already completed the Joliet system setup request do not need to take any further action. Between now and until the transition, you may receive POs for both Racine and Joliet from Procurement. 

 Inbound shipments to this facility will begin in April. 

** Supplier Action Required**

• If you haven’t already done so, confirm that the Joliet (JLN) facility is fully set up in your systems, including Natural EDI configuration and the correct DUNS: 9435561830028. 

• Inform your Logistics, Accounting, and PO processing teams of the new location. 

• Review PO header addresses carefully to ensure accurate processing. If you have any questions about POs, contact your assigned buyer immediately
