The United Family has officially begun construction on a new United Supermarkets location in Seminole, Texas, replacing its existing store with a larger, more modern facility designed to better serve the growing community. The new 49,000-square-foot supermarket, along with an adjacent United Express fuel station, is expected to open in 2027.
The expanded location will offer a wide range of services aimed at providing customers with greater convenience and a more complete shopping experience. Planned features include a drive-thru pharmacy, online grocery ordering with pickup and delivery, an in-store bakery, floral department with delivery service, full-service meat market, and an expanded deli offering hot foods and ReadyMeals. A dedicated dining area will also provide customers with a convenient place to enjoy freshly prepared meals.
The addition of a United Express fuel station will further enhance customer convenience, allowing shoppers to redeem loyalty rewards for discounts of up to $1 per gallon of fuel.
United Family President Sidney Hopper said the new store reflects the company’s appreciation for the Seminole community and its long-standing customer support.
“It is always exciting to break ground on a new store, but this one is special because we know it will bring an enhanced grocery shopping experience in a larger footprint to a community that has already supported us for a long time,” Hopper said. “We love Seminole and our team can’t wait to open the doors to this beautiful new building.”
Community leaders also praised the project for its anticipated economic impact. Mayor Chet Clark noted that the new supermarket will help keep shopping dollars within the community while strengthening the local economy. Seminole Economic Development Corporation President Kevin Petty added that the investment will provide residents with expanded product offerings, improved services and additional employment opportunities.
The new Seminole location continues The United Family’s strategy of investing in both large and small Texas communities by modernizing stores and expanding customer services across its market area.
