United Supermarkets Breaks Ground on New Store in Andrews

On April 17th, representatives from The United Family joined city officials and community leaders to break ground on Andrews, Texas’ first United Supermarkets grocery store and fuel station. Scheduled to open in 2026, the new store marks a significant expansion for the company in West Texas.

Sidney Hopper, President of The United Family, shared his enthusiasm for the project and the company’s ongoing growth in the region. “It’s always exciting to enter a new community, especially one that’s eager for a grocery store,” Hopper said. “We love West Texas, and our team is looking forward to serving the Andrews community.”

Located in North Andrews, the new store will include many of the signature features found in next-generation United Family locations, such as a full-service pharmacy with drive-through, curbside pickup and delivery, ReadyMeals, an in-store bakery, floral department with delivery, and a full-service meat market.

Guests can also look forward to an extensive beer and wine selection, along with a full-service deli and hot bar offering favorites like fried chicken, pizza, breakfast, and fresh sushi.

“We’re thrilled to bring this store to Andrews,” said Chris James, COO of The United Family. “Even more, we’re excited to share our culture of outstanding guest service, which will shine through in every department and throughout the community.”

The new location will create approximately 150 jobs and will include a United Express fuel station and convenience store.
