Wegmans Expands Reach with Three New Stores Opening in 2025

Wegmans has announced plans to open three new stores in 2025, including locations in two new markets. The stores, currently under construction, will be situated in Lake Grove, New York, Norwalk, Connecticut, and Rockville, Maryland, and are expected to open before the year ends. Each store will feature Wegmans’ signature departments, including extensive produce, seafood, meat, bakery, deli, and cheese sections, as well as prepared food offerings such as sushi, pizza, chef-made salads, and sandwiches. To enhance convenience, all three locations will include drive-through curbside pickup lanes for online grocery and Meals-To-Go orders. 

Lake Grove, New York
The first store set to open will mark Wegmans’ debut on Long Island. The 101,000-square-foot location in Lake Grove is scheduled to open on February 26^th, 2025. It will create over 500 jobs, with most positions filled by local hires. The store will include a Market Café offering a variety of fresh and ready-to-eat options, such as poke bowls, hot self-serve bars, and a made-to-order sub shop. Customers will have access to 14 full-service and 14 self-checkout registers, along with a separate café checkout area for restaurant items. The site will offer 630 parking spaces. 

Norwalk, Connecticut
Wegmans will enter Connecticut for the first time with its Norwalk location, opening in the second quarter of 2025. The 92,000-square-foot store will feature 13 full-service and 15 self-checkout registers, along with Market Café amenities similar to those at Lake Grove. The store will include a two-story parking garage with 551 spaces, a mezzanine-level entrance, solar canopies, and 12 Tesla charging stations. 

Rockville, Maryland
Rounding out the 2025 openings is Wegmans’ newest Maryland location in Rockville, its ninth in the state. The 80,000-square-foot store, part of the Twinbrook Quarter Community, will provide over 500 jobs. Customers will have access to two levels of underground parking, with 90 minutes of free parking available for shoppers.
