Wegmans opened its 107th store, this one in historic Alexandria, Virginia in May as Rochester, New York-based grocery chain continues to push south. Next up, Wegman’s first Washington, D.C. location coming on the heels of this opening. The new Virginia store is 82,000 square feet located within the Carlyle Crossings mixed use development at 150 Stovall Street. The stores carries over 4,000 organic products as well as a bountiful produce department, fresh seafood, a fully stocked meat department complimented by a deli and charcuterie section further enhanced by a cheese cave brimming with cheeses from around the world. The store offers prepared food staples like sushi, pizza, wings, salads and soups. The store also operates a café with space for over 250 patrons serving up beer, wine, and cocktails as well sandwiches and featuring, “The Burger Bar”. Wegmans also offers meals to go through their Meals 2Go program. Shoppers can order food for curbside pick-up or delivery.
