Where Is the Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion?
Recently released is the Disability Equality Index (DEI) “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion”, measuring Culture & Leadership, Enterprise Access, Employment Practices), Community Engagement, Supplier Diversity. During this review, each company receives a score, and those earning 80+ are considered as “Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion”.
The President and CEO of Disability:IN, Jill Houghton commented that “Businesses have the power to drive the global advancement of disability inclusion, and we’re thrilled to see more companies than ever leverage the Disability Equality Index to measure their progress.” It is important to recognize that Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion provides a deep need for continued equity for people with different abilities in all work environments.
Several food retailers scored 100% on this year’s DEI, including Giant Eagle, United Natural Foods Inc, Amazon, CVS Health, The Kroeger Co, Target, Walgreens, and Walmart. The President and CEO of AAPD, Maria Town commented “These top-scoring companies understand deeply that people with disabilities represent a tremendous source of talent and innovation for their workforce and market share for their brands, and they are trailblazers in our journey towards full disability inclusion in business”.
