Discount Grocer Aldi Opens Two Louisiana Stores in January

German discount grocery chain Aldi is expanding again in Louisiana, bringing its store count to seven with more planned. The company opened a new store in New Orleans last month at 8855 Veteran’s Boulevard as part of its Gulf Coast expansion plan. It is the company’s first store in Metairie, Louisiana, which is in the New Orleans metropolitan area. Our stores are designed to make grocery shopping smarter, faster and easier, and we’ve been voted the price leader for five years running,” said Heather Moore, Loxley Regional VP for Aldi, in a statement. “We’re excited to open our first Aldi store in Metairie and introduce local customers to a new, more affordable way of shopping.” Aldi opened a second location in Covington, Louisiana on January 19th. A new store opening report from Winsight Grocery Business showed Aldi as one of the leaders in new store openings.
