Celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month: Our Commitment to Holistic Employee Wellness at PRESENCE

May 16, 2024 |

As the VP of HR and a dedicated advocate for our culture of care, I am thrilled to share how PRESENCE is marking Mental Health Awareness Month. At PRESENCE, we believe in nurturing the whole employee, which encompasses not only physical health but also mental and emotional well-being.

This month, and every month, we are proud to offer our Live Life Well Program, a testament to our commitment to creating a supportive and thriving workplace. Our approach has garnered us the honor of being named the Best & Brightest Company in Wellness for six consecutive years. Additionally, our efforts in  were recognized with the prestigious Gold Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health by Mental Health America in 2024.

Here are some highlights of our healthy mind healthy initiatives:

  • Monthly Yoga and Meditation Sessions: Designed to reduce stress and enhance clarity and peace of mind.
  • Mental Health First Aid Training: We equip our managers and interested team members with the skills to support mental wellness effectively through Certified Mental Health First Aid Training. This certification program is essential for creating a supportive environment where everyone can thrive and assist employees in times of mental health crises.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Offering support through counseling and resources to help employees navigate personal and professional challenges.
  • Accessible Talk Therapy: Providing both virtual and in-person therapy options to cater to diverse needs and preferences.
  • Work Life Balance: Promoting work-life balance with PTO early release Fridays and other time away from work benefits, which is crucial for maintaining a mentally healthy lifestyle

Beyond our structured programs, I personally advocate for simple, daily practices that anyone can adopt to foster mental wellness:

  • Taking Walk Breaks During the Workday: A short walk can refresh your mind and increase productivity.
  • Prioritizing Quality Sleep: Sticking to a sleep routine and setting your phone on ‘Do Not Disturb’ can significantly improve sleep quality.
  • Spending Time Outdoors: Gardening and enjoying the sunshine are great ways to relax and rejuvenate.
  • Surrounding Yourself with Positivity: Engage with people and activities that uplift your spirit and fill your cup.

Our commitment to a healthy mind is unwavering because we understand that our employees’ well-being directly impacts their life at work and at home. As we observe Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s renew our pledge to support each other and continue building a workplace that cares for every aspect of our employees’ lives.
