H-E-B Grocery Co. opened a new store in Forney, marking its 11th location in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex and continuing the company’s rapid growth across North Texas.
The new 139,000-square-foot store is located at the intersection of U.S. 80 and Gateway Boulevard in Kaufman County. The Forney location joins 10 other H-E-B stores and three Joe V’s Smart Shop locations in the DFW area. H-E-B also operates six Central Market stores throughout North Texas.
“With our new store in Forney, we’re proud to continue growing and strengthening our presence in the DFW region,” said Juan-Carlos Rück, H-E-B Executive Vice President North West Food/Drug. “Our dedicated Partners are eager to provide a warm, engaging shopping experience for our customers as we grow to serve even more Texans in this vibrant community.”
The new store features several customer-focused amenities, including a two-story True Texas BBQ with drive-thru, a full-service pharmacy with drive-thru, a fuel station with car wash, and dedicated areas for curbside pickup and home delivery. The design incorporates energy-efficient features such as CO₂ refrigeration systems and LED lighting to support sustainability initiatives.
The Forney store employs more than 650 Partners and reflects H-E-B’s ongoing investment in communities across the region. In celebration of the grand opening, H-E-B donated a total of $20,000 to local nonprofits Bee Happy and Children’s Advocacy Center for Kaufman County.
As a multi-format retailer based in San Antonio, H-E-B operates more than 455 stores across Texas and Mexico. H-E-B continues to expand its presence across the DFW Metroplex, with existing stores in Plano, McKinney, Allen, Mansfield, Melissa, Prosper, Rockwall, Frisco, and Alliance, as well as announced locations planned for Irving, Murphy, Carrollton, Denton, and additional North Texas communities.
